Kathy Hunter, left, and Polly Bernardo were among the first gay couples to receive marriage licenses in Merced County. On Thursday the pair formally exchanged their vows in a ceremony on the front lawn of Morris Chapel at the University of the Pacific in Stockton, where Kathy works. About 100 people attended.
